A Touch of Love and Hope, a newly registered non-profit organization, hosted a fantastic fundraiser on December 16th. Geraldine and John Di Marco were inspired to create A Touch of Love and Hope once a friend enlightened them of the many health challenges in Dominica. Funds raised will be going towards programs that support mentally and physically disabled children in the Commonwealth of Dominica. Funding efforts will also be directed to established local programs currently operated by the Alpha Centre and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Roseau. And to give back the local community, money raised will also be given to the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre at Toronto General Hospital to support their continued research – with additional funds earmarked for the Mackenzie Health Care Centre, MRI Unit, Richmond Hill which will go towards their newly purchased and installed second permanent State of the Art MRI Scanner. A Touch of Love and Hope is operated by a dedicated Board of Directors and a group of loyal volunteers who take pride in supporting children in need and helping to make their own communities a better place to live.
